  1. Now you’re going to tell me that you want all of us baby boomers Dylan fans standing or sitting on the ground for a couple of hours on a cool summers eve on the waterfront? Who’s going to help us all get up once we’ve sat down that long? Or wheel me to my car once I’ve stood the whole night?

    1. I love it! I was wondering that myself!
Thank you for the biggest laugh I have
had in a really, really long time. You
      made my day.

  2. I have a ticket that shows a “section”, a “row”, and a “seat number”. How does seating in a certain area work if we are to bring a blanket to sit on.

    1. The concert is general admission. The section, row, seat number is not applicable for this show.

    1. A ticket is required for anyone 5 years of age and older. Please contact the DECC Ticket Office for additional ticketing information at 218.727.7344.

    1. It is up to the promoter of the show (Jam Productions) to decide this. I would be prepared for bags to be checked as you enter the park though.

    1. Small individual pads that have no framing and are not stored in bags such as foam bleacher pads will be allowed in the venue. Limit 1 per guest.

      1. **Lawn chairs will now be allowed at Duluth’s Bayfront Festival Park on Tuesday, July 9, for the show featuring Bob Dylan & His Band, Wilco, My Morning Jacket and the Richard Thompson Electric Trio.

  3. I must say that prior to reading this I planned to go to the concert. Now that I am aware we are expected to stand or sit on the ground, I will not be attending. I hope you make this absolutely clear to everyone BEFORE they spend money on a ticket! I wonder if Bob himself would be willing and able (or willing) to stand or sit on the ground the whole time??

    1. Bayfront Festival Park is handicap accessible. Restrooms and portable toilets are also accessible. If you have additional questions, please contact the DECC Ticket Office at 218.727.4344.

  4. What is the deal with not being alowed to bring in chairs. Most Dylan fans are not kids and don’t want to sit on the ground.

  5. Are we allowed to bring in our own water? Many folks are living on limited means and would like to know if necessities, such as water and/or food items necessary for maintaining blood sugars etc, will be allowed into the venue?

    1. One empty water bottle or one factory sealed water bottle per person will be allowed in the park. Water fountains are located in the North West corner of the park.

      1. Tickets will be sold the day of the show. Here’s the schedule:

Tue July 9th from 10AM – 4PM at the DECC Ticket Office.

Bayfront Family Center from 1:00pm – 9PM on Tue July 9th.

  6. I understand concert will be held rain or shine, but what if there is a thunder & lightening storm (as is predicted)?

    1. Promoters of the concert will keep the safety of everyone in mind and will be watching the weather closely.

  7. Official info is still saying no food or drink, but you said one sealed water bottle allowed. Can we really bring a water bottle? Also, for diabetics who need to carry a small sugar item at all times, is that OK?

    1. One factory sealed water bottle per guest is allowed or an empty water bottled that can be filled once you are in the park. A small sugar item for someone who is diabetic will be allowed but must be shown to security when entering the park.

    1. Umbrellas are not allowed. They block the view for others trying to enjoy the concert. Bring a rain jacket with a hood in case of precipitation.

  8. Will those sitting on ground/blanket have designated seating area in front of thoses with chairs????

    1. An area of general admission (standing) will be near the front and will be fenced off from the back where chairs are allowed. A checkpoint will be in place so that those going into general admission (standing) area do not bring chairs inside the fence. There is a gradual slope down toward the stage, so those in chairs will still be able to see.

    1. It’s hard to see the stage if someone standing in front of you has a big umbrella above their head. 🙂

      1. Sounds exactly right to me. Umbrellas would make a bad view for almost everyone. Maybe Bob will play “Rainy Day Women”!

      2. BTW, umbrellas are also not allowed at WeFest, the MN Zoo amphitheater, Alpine Valley in S. Wis., etc., so this policy isn’t unusual. Get wet and enjoy it!

  9. Put on a rain poncho and just dance! Wilco loves Duluth, even in inclement weather, so we know a little rain won’t keep them from rocking our worlds!

Will Mayor Ness be carried through the crowd on some shoulders again tonight? Minneapolis’ R.T. Rybak is a better crowd surfer…I’ve witnessed both and Rybak’s was much more of an actual surf than Ness’ 😉

  10. WDIO has stated both on air and on web that umbrella’s will be allowed. Yes or No. I personally hope not due to the obstruction they will cause.

    1. A decision was made by the promoter late yesterday regarding small, personal size umbrellas. They have decided to allow umbrellas into the park. We ask that people be respectful of those trying to see the stage and not block viewing for other concert goers.

  11. Are tickets still available at the door today? Since ticket master is closed the day of concert. Thanks

    1. Yes, tickets are available for purchase at Bayfront Festival Park in the Family Center throughout the afternoon and evening.

  12. I keep seeing mention of Lawn Chairs being allowed, but are others. I have no idea what a canoe chair is. Will the fold up bag type chairs so popular at Blues Fest be allowed?

    1. A standard size lawn chair is allowed. The fold up bag type chair that you are describing is allowed. Oversized chairs with footrests are not allowed.
