Bayfront Park (Duluth, MN), ALL AGES
Date:  Saturday, June 29, 2013
On Sale:  Friday, April 26 at noon CST

A bluegrassy folk and indie-rap mash-up at the most scenic venue in the state? Why not?

A pairing of two different musical worlds will take place on shared home territory June 29 when Trampled by Turtles and Atmosphere co-headline the scenic Bayfront Festival Park in TBT’s hometown of Duluth.  While they both get a ton of 89.3 the Current airplay and have played some of the same big festivals around the country, the two bands have pretty distinctive audiences from each other, with Trampled boasting a folky Americana-loving audience and jam-band fans, and Atmosphere pretty well indie-rap fans.  Can’t help but wonder what kind of collaboration they might be able to pull off (and yes, that’s a direct challenge to them). Credit goes to First Avenue – which has a long history with each of them – for bringing them together and promoting the show.  What a great place for them to stage the pairing, too, arguably the best outdoor venue in the state.  [Chris Riemenschneider, 4/22/13]

    1. will call “tickets” did not ever show up. the first people in will call line, who had arrived at 3:00 got “blank” tickets at about 6:15. Etix.com messed up bad.

  1. No lawn chairs allowed? Bob Dylan says we can bring them to his show 11 days later so I’m wondering if this may have changed. Can I bring my lawn chair now? And no water in the bottle?

    1. Each festival/concert at Bayfront Park is managed by a separate promoter. For this show they are requesting no chairs. One empty water bottle or one factory sealed water bottle per person will be allowed in the park. Water fountains are located in the northwest corner of the park.

  2. Sorry for the crazy dumb question here, but I thought I’d ask so I can give a little guidance to our babysitter. Is there a time that concerts typically end at Bayfront? Since it’s a city park I thought maybe there was a drop dead time or something. If not, I understand. I just want to see the entire Trampled by Turtles portion without having to leave early to relieve the babysitter if possible. Thanks!
